SKINLAB Announces Last-Minute Show In Arizona
June 13, 2008Bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel of the veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB has issued the following update:
"We want to announce a very last-minute show [on Friday, June 13] in Mesa, Arizona at Cell Block. This is a show that was supposed to have been cancelled as far as we knew last month. Not that we didn't want to play Mesa; we just decided that June was the cut-off date to actually finish all the songs and get ready to actually record a new album.
"Anyway, the promoter and bands have been doing a great job all along thinking the show was on and basically looking at a successful night of metal... metal enough to get our assses on a plane out to Arizona and rock a fuckin' show... do some drinkin' 'till 5:00 a.m. and fly home... Haha! We're down... See you fuckerz tomorrow!!!
"By the way, the video for 'In For The Kill' is pretty much done! I think Jourdan [McClure, director] has some more edits in the works, but from what we've seen so far, we're lookin at the best SKINLAB video yet! We're looking to make the song and video available very soon. Lots of good stuff coming our way finally. Hope to see a new LAB album very soon!!"
SKINLAB's "In for the Kill" video was filmed on May 12 at the group's warehouse in Oakland, California with new, up-and-coming director Jourdan McClure. The clip will feature an appearance by rebounding UFC fighter Nate Quarry and Greg Thompson.
The band has uploaded a pre-production version of a new song, "In for the Kill", to its MySpace page.
SKINLAB released a live album, "SkinnedAlive!", on April 29 via BCD Music Group. The CD was recorded on June 3, 2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California.
The band's 1997 debut album, "Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded", was reissued on October 2, 2007 via Century Media Records. The repackaged disc features never-before-seen video footage and pictures with liner notes from founding members Steev Esquivel and Mike Roberts along with new artwork layout.
